beorg can sync files with iCloud, Dropbox, Box, a folder from another app and WebDAV (this includes services such as NextCloud).
There are some settings which apply to all sync methods:
There is no additional setup needed for iCloud. beorg will watch for changes to your iCloud files and automatically sync any changes.
To configure Dropbox sync you need to specify the folder you wish to sync. Once this has been set tap Link Account and you’ll be asked by Dropbox to give permission for beorg to access your files in Dropbox.
To get WebDAV working you’ll need to provide your WebDAV:
If you are using WebDAV on your own server and have a self-signed certificate you’ll want to turn on Allow untrusted certificate.
You’ll need to link beorg to your Box account by tapping Link Account. beorg may not be compatible with some enterprise Box setups.
Box requires beorg Premium or the Box extension.
This sync method allows you to sync beorg with a folder on your device, including folders managed by other apps (such as Working Copy).
By default beorg will sync when:
If Auto sync on modify is turned off then (2) and (3) above will not trigger a sync.
You can also tell beorg only to sync when you do an explicit “Perform Sync”. You can do this via the beorg Customize extension and turn on Manual sync only.
As beorg works with files it is possible that a file edited in beorg is not the latest version. beorg keeps track of previous versions of files. If a remote change overwrites a local change then you’ll be alerted to this. You can then browse the saved versions and either revert or copy out the overwritten change. Where possible make sure that you don’t have unsaved files on your computer that you are going to edit in beorg.
